Why does the Lazarus IDE need the source code for the compiler?
I'm not planning any cross-compiling nor am I planning on changing
the compiler itself at all. Why would I be told that these are
important files?
The source code for the compiler no, lazarus needs de source code of
RTL + packages (FCL)
In fact, it should need those only, for your convinience. So that code
completion etc works. Otherwise you can ignore the warning, if all the
ppu for the rtl are installed then compilation should work
