Of course, I used it with Zeos and IBExpress in Delphi (don't tested
with Lazarus) without recompiling my code. The only change I did was
replacing fbClient.dll to its embedded version.

It can be done even without ZeosDB, just use the SQLDB TIBConnection
instead.
(of course, Using Zeos is also a good choice)
