No, just remove the {$R *.res} directive in the project file (the .lpr
one).
Then it should compile.
The project compiled successfully following this guidance from Mr. Van
Canneit.
Having known Mr. Van Canneit's proficiency for many years, I did not expect
any other result when following his recommendation.
However, Mr. Van Canneit, I would like to ask you to explain what caused
the sudden appearance of this corrupted .res file error and what happens
when I remove the directive that you determined.
I am sure that if you gave this explanation, Mr. Van Canneit, I would have
a valuable addition of knowledge about the compilation environment and the
IDE. Would you be patient enough to explain what happened, please?
Sorry, but I cannot explain it without more detailed info on the error.
All I can say now is that there are at least 2 possible causes:
- The .res file was somehow damaged when transferring it.
(you can test this by copying it back to the original computer: if the
program compiles on the origin
- The tools on the second computer are not up-to-date and do not understand
the format of the .res file.
Michael.
