I've used LabVIEW to control X10 devices in LV5.0 days. The protocol was very simple where you could use the simple serial VIs to transmit and read the response(s). Some manufactures do not send protocol/command information so make sure you request and read the manufacture's documentation before proceeding. Should be a snap.
