There are some tools floating around to unprotect VIs but they all use brute force attack and are absolutely unsuited to try to uncover passwords longer than 6 characters (ok with an AMD Opteron 7 characters might be possible :-). For the rest the password protection is pretty safe and its purpose is not to let people look into the diagram if they don't know the password and that is achieved very effectively. Since there is no other way software can know you are a legitimate person to see that diagram, it can't allow to let you circumvent the protection as that would make the whole protection completely useless. In old days NI would at times unprotect VIs for users like you who could proof they were the rightful owners of them, but they discontinued that some time ago as it was way to labour intense for normal technical support.
