Sure it's allowed, using VIServer. Check out the NI Dev Zone, search for the
word factorial and select "Recursive Calls in LabVIEW Using VI Server...".
This uses strict type VI calls to oneself. You can get more sophisticated
with template VIs and the Run Method...

It also seems that recursion (or at least psuedo-infinite-nesting) is alive
and well on the list here. Not to branch off the recent thread about HTML
posts eating up bandwidth, but, it seems a lot more bandwidth (and reading
time) are wasted by including:

*ALL* their Sign-Off block, and *ALL* inclusions:
