Dave, This is a known issue with the compatibility between Windows Media Player 9 and LabVIEW 6.1, 7.0, and 7.1. When you play a movie file with WMP9, the video portion of it does not show up in the Media Player display.
Microsoft has changed the version of the Windows Media Software Development Kit used with Windows Media Player 9. LabVIEW was designed to work with the SDK version used to build Windows Media Player 8.0. The issue can be resolved by downgrading your version on Windows Media Player to 8.0. Zvezdana S.
