I have been using the continuous wavelet transform (CWT.vi) from the signal processing toolset. I was wandering whether the CWT.vi uses the equation in the SPT manual (chapter 9 page 4) because I have not seen this in any academic textbooks on the subject and the manual does not refer to this as the equation for the CWT vi directly. Obviously, when processing signals the algorithm can not be continuous (as you need to integrate ovar all time). Is the equation in the SPT manual refering to the CWT.vi and therefore, is this in fact a discretised CWT or a form of DWT?
Furthermore, is a different equation used in the CWT.vi if an external wavelet is chosen requiring the analysis filter coefficients?
