Dear Alix, Lorelei posted a photo of a piece with false plaits. That is what you saw that you correctly identified as modern bobbin lace. The second set of photos which you said was needle lace, but very distorted, is the Milanese lace that perfectly resembles mezzo punto, that I am referring to. Please look at the close-ups.
