I notice that a new extension for these dicts has been recently created

However the contents of this new dict package is exactly the same as
Laszlo Nemeth's dict-en-fixed (3814). Is there a reason for having a
different package here?

This was part of an effort to consolidate dependencies. To build OpenOffice now we only need that two sites are online, Apache Extras (where we store external libraries) and Extensions (where we store bundled dictionaries). This allows, e.g., to keep historical information available: we will be able to retrieve the dictionary version bundled with 3.4.1 at any time.

Our source code was downloading the dictionary from the "/tmp" dir on numbertext.org, see
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/openoffice/trunk/main/extensions.lst?r1=1486367&r2=1489770

But indeed, Stuart is right:
http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/node/3785 (he gives a different number, but that's the release, not the extension) and
http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/node/17102
have one release each, and that release is identical. I couldn't notice this since the Extensions site will capture duplicates only in locally-hosted extensions, while the first one is externally hosted.

So, to recap:
- We need that the extension file is hosted on the Extensions site
- If László wishes to modify his extension so that the actual OXT file is hosted on extensions.openoffice.org (or just copied to there) this is the best solution and we can coordinate offline to make it possible; and my new extension http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/node/17102 will then be unpublished to avoid duplication. László, would this be OK with you?

Regards,
  Andrea.
