I know that with my TVS200 running v4.56 it will go to sleep 15 minutes after the set time for 'closing hours' which in my case is 10:00PM. It wakes up at midnight for about 15 minutes, shuts down the HD then starts up again at3:00am for 15 minutes then shuts off if it receives no calls. As far as I know during the set business hours the Hard Drive it powered on during those hours. You might also check the Caller ID function of the TVS as it needs 1.5 rings to get the information. If you do not need caller ID turn the feature off.
