This is one for you ISDN experts. I'm using a KX-TD1232-7 and KX-TD386 with an ISDN line for my home telephone. I've been trying to get the third directory number I have to work, but the KX-TD ignores incoming calls with the third DN.
The C.O. is a Nortel DMS-100 with National ISDN-1. The first two telephone numbers make and receive calls just fine. I connected a protocol analyzer inline with the CO trunk and can see the two SPIDs being sent and acknowledged, and the assignments for TEI are made. Incoming calls to the first two numbers are acknowledged by the KXT and routed to the appropriate extensions. When the third number is dialed, I see the messaging from the C.O., but no acknowledgment from the KXT. Any ideas? Also, does anyone have experience with using ISDN extension telephones on this system? The ports on the KX-TD386 do not provide data when I connect an ISDN telephone to it. SPID Assignment (453) is set with the two assigned SPIDs, Directory Number Assignment (454) has the three assigned directory numbers, and Extension Ringing Assignment (454-455) have the three desired routings. ISDN Ring Service Assignment (420) is set to "ISDN". In case you are thinking, "Why are you using ISDN?". The answer is that our CO lines are not very good in this rural area. I like ISDN for its quick call set-up and release, excellent fidelity, conference bridging doesn't have the "low audio" problem, and that I can dial in/out through the DISA port and have really clean calls with good DTMF. I like 64 kb speech! It's like having a partial T-1 (well, a very small part of a T-1). Thanks for any help or insight you can provide. -John Paso Robles, CA _________________________________________________________________ KX-T Mailing list --- http://kxthelp.com/ Subscription changes: http://kxthelp.com/mailman/listinfo/kxt
