I am really close in getting this thing set up the way I want it (I think).
I have 2 lines that I want to be answered like answering machine, with separate messages. I have the VM set up like this: port 1 set to custom1 port 2 set to custom2 custom1 set to a,tsfr to mbx 191 custom2 set to a,tsfr to mbx 192 KX-TD 816-7 set up like this: Intercept routing after 4 rings Line 1 --> 165 (VM port 1) Line 2 --> 166 (VM port 2) When placing call, calling line 1, line rings 4-5 times then goes to VM with correct message. Calling line 2 VM picks up after 4-5 rings but no message plays and callers continues to hear ringing. I can tell that the VM has picked up because the PT's no longer ring but the light is on for line 2. If I intercom 165 and 166 the correct messages play for both, so it would seem that the ports are responding correctly. Why does intercept routing to 166 (port 2) not seem to be working? I thought this might have been a limitation of the older 816's which I have just replaced but that it would work on the newer models. Can anyone suggest a work around for this?
