The -1 does support EFA from an SLT. To make it work, you have to flash the 
hook switch then press 6. That will tell the system to pass the flash on to 
the co line.

If you want to retire the TD1232, you could consider upgrading to the new 
TDA series. You will be able to keep the same phones and get some new 
features.  Or if you are a do-it-yourselfer and you are already familiar 
with the 1232, you could consider just upgrading your cabinet to the recent 
version -7 (or -6).   Then from the user point of view, all the operations 
would stay the same.
