The world has changed. For five years or more, cordless phones have outsold 
corded, so mfrs. make fewer corded models, and apparently none with built-in 
answerers.

Pan still makes a couple of 2-liners, including

You could also use the Panasonic KX-TG4000 4-line "wireless" system (WITH 
ANSWERING). The base phone has a conventional wired handset. You can use it 
with just two lines if you want, and sell the cordless handset that comes
