The Cisco router is a 1760 Modular Access Router. The specific card the TDA200 is connected to is a VWIC-2MFT-T1-DI, which is a 2-port "Multiflex Trunk" card for T1 with Drop and Insert. This card has a pair of RJ48 jacks and handles 2 simultaneous T1 connections. It has built-in CSUs for each port, and supports both voice and data for the T1 channels. It is extremely flexible and even has the ability to Drop and Insert channels between the T1s. Obviously, I'm not using all of these features and they're not all needed for the connection to the TDA. They also have a VWIC-2MFT-T1 card, which is basically the same card without the Drop/Insert capability, and a VWIC-1MFT-T1 card, which is a one port version. In addition, there are similar E1 versions of these cards. For my purposes, the first port on the card is connected to the data T1 from the CLEC. The second port on the card then goes to the TDA200. Of course, the 1760 Router is running a IOS with a Voice feature set and it has DSP Modules installed to support the various codecs. BTW, the most difficult part of this system was the configuration of the router to work with my provider. As far as getting the Cisco to work with the TDA, that was the easy part. Once the Cisco was configured to emulate the network side of the ISDN PRI on the second T1 port, the rest was very simple. In fact, the TDA200 started working with the Cisco on the first attempt.
