Actually, I'm going through some stuff with Cisco right now on getting the polarity reversals to be correct in the ATA186. It currently is very wrong. They are getting closer though.

In my opinion, VOIP over the internet isn't ready for prime time. I'm using VOIP over a point-to-point T1 circuit, and there still are some issues even with that.

Oh, wouldn't _that_ be nice.  I put in a support request to Cisco about
this many months back.  They told me that many people have requested
this and that they plan to implement it in a future upgrade.  It's not
clear if this will require a hardware mod or not.

In the meantime they suggested I turn on the reverse polarity on
disconnect feature.  I did, but this didn't help.

Of course if you got your ATA-186 from Vonage, you can't get into the
box to play.



It's getting harder to find CPC on POTS, espc iif you are fed from a
SLC.


And when oh when will Panasonic support it on their PBXs!
