Tom,

one possibility is them dialing the night code accidentally, "781"
If someone in intercom mode dials 781 from a phone with night authorization, they
could turn it on.

Check if they have any local phone prefixes that begin with "781". If they didn't
realize they were on intercom, they could try to dial 781-2345 for instance and end up
turning on night mode.

Around here I get that problem with "pickup dialing"- the code is 741 and there is a
local exchange that begins with 741 so a lot of people dial it by accident.
Solutions include changing the code to something less prone to be dialed (say a 4
digit number for instance), or set their phones for auto line access, (or teach people
to always use the phone properly- unlikely).

  Subject: KX-T: Night Mode

This is the first time using this site so I apologize if I am confusing.

A couple of customers have been having problems with their night mode.
All have a KX-TD816 system with a TVS-50 voice mail. Within the past two
weeks they have complained about the night mode coming on in the middle
of the day. They claim they have not been accidently pushing the night
mode button and the time settings are still correctly set.

I just wanted to know if anyone else has seen this and had any ideas
  what might be causing it.
