I just installed a td816-6 with a tvs50 in a residence. They only have 2 lines installed. Both lines and on all seven phones including the 7895 have a hissing and humming noise in the background. When the jog dial wheel is turned up the hissing and humming just gets louder. I tested the telco at the dmark and there is no hissing or humming. I went to pgm 990 and turned on the -3db pad for the above mentioned lines. The hissing was reduced but still there. Tech support said I should loop single line dial tone back into the line ports and see what happens. I also suggested that I move the telco to line port 3 and 4. Any of youse guys experience these issues. It almost sounds as if the amplification for the jog dial is turning the volume up too much. I just told him to turn down the volume on the jog dial. He is not buying that one. When the jog dial wheel is turned down the hissing is almost gone. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks Ross
