Steve,

Total agreement here.

My post was to give those thinking this was a "dealers forum" a reality check. You may
or may not listen to your customers, but on this list your customers are listening to
you. We can all read between the lines.

The amount of angst voiced here is encouraging. Last time this came up many of the
replies took a slightly different line of attack, essentially denigrating the
customers that buy their equipment.

Good to see that many of you are learning.

And THAT , imho, is constructive.

Cheers,

Reddy

PS: If Panasonic reads (vs. just subscribing to ) this forum, it would be hard to tell
it's had much impact on them. They could use more end user feedback IMHO. We use
Panasonic in our home and one remaining office. We have been migrating away from
Panasonic in our businesses, but would return to Pana for our smaller offices under
the right conditions. How well do you think Panasonic listens to their customers ?
Or their dealers ?

  Facts about this board:

  1. This board was develop for end users and dealers of Panasonic CSD products
(KX-T) to converse about concerns or issues with the product.

  2. Panasonic as a corporation, does not support or is in anyway involved with
this board. However they do monitor and subscribe to this list.

  3. As Panasonic dealers, ANY posting could be a detrimental to said dealer,
and this is why dealers take the view they do here. We wish to help, because
we are devoted to the product, but we can't just give away stuff here.
         a. It's bad business, and threatens our livelihood as dealers.
         b. Such actions could threaten our dealership.
         c. As dealers we are limited by a contract on what we can and cannot
do, so all you non-dealers should accept this.

  4. Software is the sole copyright and product of a company, Panasonic in this
instance, and they have the right to sell to whoever THEY wish. If it's a
dealer only item, then so be it. If you have issue with this statement,
don't yell at me, talk to Bill Gates, he's the one that started this pay for
  software thing anyway.

  5. Last and Foremost. This list is to be a CONSTRUCTIVE method of airing
our concerns, issues, problems with the Panasonic KX-T and KX-TD product
line. Some of us are dealers, end users, trunk slammers, home automation
installers, IT professionals, software pirates, hackers, script kitties,
rocket scientists, and dung shovelers. My point is we are all here for ONE
reason, and that is to make the KX-T product a great product. We obviously
chose the product over other manufacturers, or we wouldn't be here, and this
wouldn't be an issue. Thus providing everyone solutions to a problem,
programming issues, applications and design issues, etc. This can be a good,
helpful environment, or this can suck, it's up to everyone on here.

  I'm spent.
