Mike: You can't program a TD500 from a telephone like the TD1232, so if you had the programming manuals, they'd just be good fire starter. The TD500 has proprietary software to program it, and you must certified to get it. As far as features, many are similar to the TD1232, and some use the same access codes, but that's about it.
