I have my own call accounting software which I created and it works fine with several
PBXs. I came across a problem with KXTD1232.
My software is communicating with the COM port using Microsoft's MSCOMM object. It
fails to read any data from the KXTD1232 SMDR output. HyperTerminal works fine on the
same computer, so it's not a cable issue.

Is there anything special with this PBX? Am I supposed to send any requests to it? All
I usually do is open the COM port for reading. Is there anything else I should do here?
Also, I've noticed a character appearing on HyperTerminal when first connected to the
PBX, it is ASCII 17. Where does it come from? Does it have any meaning?

TIA,
Yariv Habot
