I just started using residential VoIP service from a company called Vonage
on a TD1232-4. Vonage uses a Cisco ATA186 analog terminal adapter, so it
looks just like a normal analog phone line to the switch. They're charging
$40/month flat-rate for U.S. long distance, and international rates looked
okay too. My application is residential, so I haven't looked into whether
this service can be used for a business too. Voice quality is
indistinguishable from a normal phone call. The only switch setup that I
did was ARS-related; I set up a bunch of patterns so that the switch will
favor the Vonage VoIP line when we make long-distance calls that are
covered under the flat-rate LD service.
