I've got exactly the same symptoms as Dirk. I'm using the same host kernel, qemu-kvm 1.2.0 and both WinXP-32 and Win7-64 guests. I've tried both "default"-USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 settings for the guest USB controller. In all cases, Windows loads the device drivers, but the software on the gust cannot "see" the device.
