That is being done in conjunction with upstream Debian too; albeit that removal has for now stalled; but switching to a toolkit that isn't being treated as LTS any longer (in the Debian/Ubuntu repository) has downsides with a long term support release. We're well past feature freeze though for resolute (26.04).
