I have the same problem. Have a look at these bug reports: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67031 http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68911 It indeed seems to be a packaging bug. However, I could not find any "old" files in /usr/lib/kde3 or references to pluginconfig anywhere. BTW: "rm /usr/lib/kde3/kopete* /usr/lib/kde3/kcm_kopete*" fixes the crash but of course renders the configure-dialogue (and kopete itself) pretty much useless... -- Kopete Configure Crash https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/37657
