For anyone attending the Gathering at Mt.Vernon and not camping at the airport or have other arrangements, the Drury Inn, Mt.Vernon, one of the top spots in town, is offering a discount through the local FBO, SRT Aviation. I just booked a double queen bed room for $122 a night. To get the discount, call them direct at 618 246 5201 and not through one of the on-line booking sites. Tell them you are attending the Gathering at the airport and ask for the SRT Aviation discount to confirm before you book. Note: I've found it is always better to call a motel location direct rather than going through an on-line booking agencies as they add a few dollars to the price for their service.
