I can say one thing about propellers in general that most of us probably
know. Little tiny nuances in the propeller design make huge differences in
how the aircraft flies. It's really kind of amazing. I had my avid flyer
that I bought in California to fly home To New England England, The
(54x46?) shorter high pitch prop that came on it didn't seem to do it
justice. I bought a Tennessee prop of much bigger diameter 64" and less
pitch, and it didn't have enough pitch. I sent it back to them and somehow
they were able to add pitch. I think I ended up with a 64 x 38 on a Jabaru
2200. That prop was magical. It had a stunning climb rate and a extremely
respectable cruise speed for the aircraft. And it was just nice at all
power level. I flew across the country and liked it even more by the time I
got home . The other two sucked by comparison. Same plane, same engine,
massive difference with the propeller.
