"I already built two planes, a Jodel D112 and a Piel Emeraude."

I had custody of a Cavalier SA-102 for several months and in caring for it
learned something of the amazing number of French wood aircraft designs that
immediately followed WW -II.  The French Government of the time encouraged
various cities to submit their designs.  Winner gets a production run at
Government expense.  The MiniCab won it one year and the Government built 20 of
them.  The MiniCab design carries on in the form of the Cavalier, tip tanks and
retractable gear and there's even a 4 place model I think.   Jodel and
Emaraude, MiniCab, and some more we could name evolved from this period.  The
magnificent the Druin Turbulent of course.  Most if not all French cities of
any size had an "aero club" and from these aero clubs flew all these designs.
Meanwhile, German cities are in rubble.  Most of Europe is rebuilding yet in
French cities the aero clubs are desiging and building wooden airplanes.

KR's go back to this era . . . kinda.  The design was conceived in the mind of
John Taylor, whose Taylor MiniPlane Ken and Stuart used as a model.  (I've read
this, somewhere.)  This takes the design back to late 40's, first flight 1951.
