Several days ago I mentioned the EAA "Homebuilders Hall of Fame" and
wondered if Ken and Stu had ever been inducted and if not, why not.
Mike Simmons posted me off net with some info he researched and the
nominating form. I had a nice conversation with Jeanette Rand this
afternoon and she expressed her grateful thanks to anyone taking on the
project of having them inducted. I would suggest that it would be
fitting to include her name on the nominating petition as she was with
Ken from the beginning and she ran the company for 30 years after Ken's
death. She has lost track of Stu after all these years after he moved
to northern California. It sure would be nice if we could contact Stu
as part of this project.
My challenge to group is someone or a committee take on the project of
putting together the info to submit a nominating petition for their
induction to the Homebuilders Hall of Fame. I provided Jeanette with a
copy of the form and she will start making some notes to help write the
petition.
I would like to set a goal of submitting the petition by the deadline
for next year of March 31.
Some of the interesting details she shared was that the long wing motor
glider was Stu's KR and that Stu did much of the building on
the**amphibian.

Considering the thousands of hours many of us have spent in flying KR
aircraft and with KRs having been built on probably every continent
except Antarctica, I think their induction is long overdue.
Let's make it happen.

P.S. I think I have Jeanette's autograph on one of my photo albums when
she visited my project 25+ years ago and 211LF is flying with EAA
founder Paul Poberezny and Rudy Frasca (builder of flight simulators)
autograph on the back of the seat back. I didn't have a marker with me
when I met Orville and Wilbur at the airport or I'd have their autograph
too. 🙂
