Netters,

I’m trying to find some numbers on elevator and aileron air loads. So I have
two questions:

1: Without considering any mechanical advantage from the control stick, does
anyone have an idea what kind of maximum aerodynamic loads one might see on the
actual control surfaces?

2: What are your actual control forces at the stick with the mechanical
advantage it provides?

For context I’m trying to size some push pull tubes. Looking at column bending
graphs for 4130 steel or 2024 aluminum tubing is great, but only if you know
the maximum load it must resist!

Much appreciated if you have a ballpark idea, but even better if you have some
actual test data you’d be willing to share.

Thanks all,
Evan
