Y’know, when I was considering my first homebuilding project, I had another
friend in St Louis (not Jim F) that was building one of these, with a VW. He
got transferred to Texas, and I later met Jim. Never looked back on my
decision to build a KR, but those Quickies and Dragonflies sure look – um-
futuristic.
That the fastest I ever heard of one going. Most VW KRs can outdo a similar
Quickie, I think. And a whole lot less expensive to build!

Subject: KRnet> ramblings verified

While at the airport today I verified some of my recent ramblings.
[Sam Hoskins bio – EAA Chapter 277]

Sam is running an 0-200 with 9 to 1 compression, electronic ignition and fuel
injection, turns a 60X74 prop (I didn't note the maker, I think its a Cato),
runs wide open throttle turning 3000 rpm and burning 8 gph. He turns in race
times in the 205 mph range.

Sam flew the airplane from west coast to east coast in the USA in less than 24
hours a few years back. How's that for a personal goal?
