Speaking of antennas, no antenna could be as easy to install or work any

$150 is a bit steep for a product with $10 of material an as easy to
make as this one. I got mine at no cost 24 years ago from the person
making them at the time. I simply tie wrapped mine to the first cross
member behind the baggage area. It was taller than the space available
so the top part curves forward at the turtledeck and the bottom curves
forward at the floor. No ground plane required. The antenna is simply
wire encased in resin that is flexible with a connector at the mid
point. If someone on the net could provide a simple drawing /
description builders could make their own for the price of a few gallon
of 100 LL.
