Troy Petteway had already flown it, and declared it to be the "best landing KR I've ever flown", which is saying something for him, he's flown so many. So KR experience is everything, and folks should get some introductory KR training before flying their plane for the first time. All of my previous time was in Cessnas, which practically land themselves, and are a whole different story. Calibrating the airspeed indicator and ensuring there are no leaks in static or pitot systems BEFORE the first flight is easy, and essential, for accurate landing and stall speeds. GPS is useless unless it's a perfectly calm day, which is rare.
