If you ever considered the size and weight of an object while loading and its placement in the airplane then you had at least a bit of care on CG.  I'm guessing that from experience you knew the limits of the aircraft you were flying, the airplane was very forgiving,  and you pushed it to the limits.  With a total disregard for W&B, gross weight, takeoff surface condition and length, obstacles to clear, etc., you wouldn't be telling us about it today.  Just guessing..........
