Hi Tinyauto, I have a kr2 with subaru.2.2 engine that was going well BUT when flying the fuel injection pump failed so I put it in a field I have repaired the tricycle gear but havent had time to reassemble the reduction gear from the prop strike. This engine did very well with a 2 to 1 reduction. I built a backup fuel injection manifold with a fuel pressure gauge but again it's just sitting. I am planning to sell it in the future because it's my second airplane. Let's keep in touch .Rene Ffrench. In Austin Tx. N202LP.Kr2 stretched in size but the builder built it with 1 seat. 512.547.7164 Sent from my T-Mobile 4G LTE Device -------- Original message --------From: tinyauto--- via KRnet <krnet@list.krnet.org> Date: 4/5/22 3:15 PM (GMT-06:00) To: krnet@list.krnet.org Cc: tinya...@aol.com Subject: Re: KRnet> Composition of a KR 2 with Subaru EA 81 engine You should sell the engine to a vintage Subaru collector. I have a friend who has been trying to piece an EA81 together and he says the parts are very difficult to find. Strike one! Next to develop full power, the Subaru has to turn too fast requiring a reduction. I have a friend who rebuilt his Subaru powered airplane 3 times and finally gave up. I believe that to be common. Strike two. I know there was a Subaru engine aircraft conversion company that sold engines. Not real successful with that. I know there aren't many Subarus engines flying. Strike three. I think the engine can be made to fly but there are better alternatives. Good luck!Sent from the all new AOL app for Android On Tue, Apr 5, 2022 at 5:55 AM, Arie Post via KRnet<krnet@list.krnet.org> wrote:
