Here's my (checkered) record of deadstick landings:

broken crank - put it on a runway
broken crank - put it on a runway
flywheel bolt broke - put it on I-65
broken crank - put it in a hay field
blown oil line - put it on a runway
sucked valve - put it in a bean field

Altitude gives choices.....
