Their performance numbers are staggering if they are anywhere near
honest. 1012 pound useful load, 736 pounds with full fuel, 900 fpm
climb rate, 148 mph cruise, all on 115 hp !!! Kit price between 127K
and 155K depending on quick build options. I'll believe those numbers
when I see KR2's cruising at 180 mph on a 2100 VW. Even at 75% power
they're getting 148 mph cruise on 86 hp in a 2000 pound airplane? That
engine is rated for 5800 rpm max for 5 minutes and 100 hp continuous
(87%) so even at max continuous rpm you're getting 148 mph cruise on 6
gallon per hour in a 4 place airplane that goes 2000 pounds gross. what
do they know that Cessna , Piper, Mooney, and the other dozen of
aircraft builders have missed in building aluminum airplanes?
Compare these numbers to the C172XP, 195 hp / constant speed prop,
nearly double the horsepower.
Operating Weights: Cruise speed claimed 131 knots. I sure don't
remember the one I flew for 10 hours being anywhere near that fast.

believing.............
