THAT is a very good question! Each of us has to answer that question Before we
start to build.
Myself, I want a speedy plane, able to carry 2 FAA-normal persons, capable of
500 mile cross country day trips or overnights. Not really looking for
aerobatic capability, as much as I like watching others demonstrate the edge of
their plane's envelope. There are several designs that fit that mission, but
NONE are as cheap as the KR series. All the other designs that fit that
mission, are much more expensive to tool up for, more costly to operate and
maintain, and take literally years longer (and often tens of thousands more $$
to build).
As for G forces and feelings of safety, if the design meets my above criteria,
I'm fine and feel safe without parachutes, ballistic chutes or the like. I
observe that most pilots like myself feel plenty safe without those, and those
way-out-there- on-the bell-curve accidents seem more like random acts of God,
borrowing that phrase from insurance companies.

Subject: KR>Re: G forces

My question is are we building these for aerobatics?  Or a speedy little point
A  to B plane? Or... just weekend flyer? I very studied this plane for almost
25 years and started building one this spring, my intentions is a speedy little
plane that will get me to point A to B, not to do loops and rolls and stress
the airframe to 3-4 G's I dont think Ken Rand intended for us to subject that
kind of load on the KR. Just my opinion Chris Stewart- "long way away from
retirement"
