To clarify this, I have no doubt that adding area to the horizontal and vertical stabilizers will improve "tail volume", so this will certainly improve stability, and really it's not even difficult to quantify by itself. it's just a calculation (area x moment arm).

Any increase in tail volume is going to be an improvement, which is exactly why I built my plane with an extra 6" on both horizontal stabilizers, as well as the rudder. And these tail surface mods are largely responsible for the stability improvement. Troy made the first flight in my KR2S, and was quick to say that it was most stable KR he'd every flown, and landed (as a tailwheel)...
