Hello all,
I'd like to thank you for your stories of first flights, pictures, and
success stories. They are inspirational! I hope to submit one of those
first flight stories in the near future too.
However, I'm still struggling with some of those construction issues that
the plans and instruction manual leave to the imagination.
I seem stuck right now. I have been working on the flaps way too long! I
currently have the plane upside down to finish the bottom of the wings.
That done I decided to cut out and finish the flaps. I'm struggling with
installing the flap spars, mounting all the hardware, and having it all
line up properly. I'll be cutting my second set of flap spars today, and
hopefully "seeing the light" of how to finish the darn things.
It's difficult to stay motivated when you end up doing things twice, or
when a task is completed, you realize "if I would have done this, it would
have been a lot easier".
I do try to go to people's web sites and review the mail, and pore over as
much as I can online, but have not found the detail necessary to answer all
my construction snags.
For all of you that have successfully completed your project,
congratulations! Keep the stories of flights and pictures coming. Just know
that it helps keep the juices flowing of those of us that have a useless
lump of lumber, foam, and fiberglass sitting in their garage, waiting to be
called an aircraft one day.
90% done, 90%to go!
