You're right Jeff, at least on the SkyView.  The SkyView has a small battery pack behind the panel that the unit reminds you to test at least once after installation.  It has 4 LI-ON 18650 cells as I recall.  The unit in the RV10 right screen did not test well.  I removed it and took it to the battery store (where I work, part time, and the store owner owns the RV10) to check it out.  The owner instructed me to open it up and see what the problem was.  No luck.  He asked me to rebuild it.  No luck. Rebuilt it a second time. No luck.  He finally purchased a new one at $160.  Thing is if we would have just sent it back they would have replaced it under warranty.  Glad it wasn't my $160.
