"Stephen Teate, and other recently flying KR guys"

I really do wish this was true. I will keep this short. Getting the airplane to
the airport and discovering that the brakes are not "adequate" was
disappointing. I could control the airplane on the ground and bring it to a
stop but if I really needed to stop quickly, or hold the airplane for an 1800
RPM mag check it wasn't going to happen. So after the last caliper hemorrhage
it was time to get some real wheels and brakes. I went from 410 x 350's to 5.0
x 500 tires with Matco wheels/brakes/axles. This is not easily done at the
airport so the plane had to come home. Of course this means the old wheel pants
won't work either so add that to the list. I saw no reason to change the nose
gear 410 x 350 but the length of the nose gear strut definitely had to change
as the view over the nose was way too good! Finished the nose gear and cut the
foam for the new pants this weekend and plan to take the next couple of Fridays
off to try and make this quick. I will keep you posted.
