Larry - After working for Boeing for 44 years, I know that the costs of getting
and retaining certification through the FAA are high and do need to be
amortized by any company to make any kind of a profit - especially on a small
market like GA. We can get numerous things from auto parts stores that can go
on our experimental airplanes that would cost much less than the same item
going on a certified airplane. If the FAA would go after those that use
experimental parts on certified airplanes with appropriate fines and publicized
it (especially for things as expensive as ADS-B out) maybe suppliers could
maintain a two tier pricing structure - but, unfortunately,  we all know that
isn't going to happen

I don't think ..... We can fly in the
same airspace and in close proximity to each other, why can't we use the
same equipment.  No one on the net has the answer to that so I guess
we're beating a dead horse here.
