Rather than dump info onto KRNet, I'll just summarize what the electric Pietenpol experiment ran. HPEV-50 3-phase induction motor, rated 71HP at about 3300 RPM. 100 volt, 115 lbs. Batteries: lithium ion polymer, 100 amp-hour with Curtis controller. Ivo prop, abut 4-4.5 degrees of pitch got it to about 210 lbs of static thrust.
