Rob and all, Glad to hear you have active plans in progress for the KR Gathering at Lee's Summit. HOPEFULLY this mess that is Corona virus will be at a low spot and travel will be possible coinciding with the event. Someone posted a question about the ADS-B requirement due to the proximity of KLXT to KMCI. AOPA recently published guidance regarding getting a waiver of sorts. As quoted; "You'll need to use the FAA's ADS-B ADAPT https://www.faa.gov/nextgen/equipadsb/adapt/ program to make a request to do your flight. ADAPT stands for "ADS-B Deviation Authorization Preflight Tool". You can make your request no more than 24 hours out and no less than 1 hour before. I just talked with the Airport manager. With the current Covid-19 restrictions, it would be cancelled. But no one is projecting they will last until September. I have not started ordering shirts/hats/meals yet because of the current situation. I plan to call him back up around the 1st of July to confirm. The restrictions affect our EAA Chapter as well, but still think September will be clear. Side note, the Chiefs are playing the Texans on Thursday night September 10th (if the NFL gets to play).
