FWIW, I found the canopy to be pretty easy to cut with an abrasive cutting wheel on a die grinder. I also punched a ton of holes around the perimeter of the canopy with the die grinder and a pointed grinding bit before floxing it into place. The grinding process melts rather than cutting, so makes for a clean cut in the canopy leaving no stress risers or micro cracks.
