Dennis Dyer should still be on here. Maybe he hasn't been reading lately...
Dennis didn't build his starter configuration. I believe it was built by
George McHenry, but Dennis should have some specifics on it. George used a
Lycoming ring gear for a SAE-1 Hub over the Continental hub. Don't know if he
put in deeper drive lugs, but I would recommend it. Then he used an automotive
starter that was rigged up on the right side in front and under #3 cylinder.
The problem is that there isn't much to mount to there, so he had to get
creative with building some brackets for mounting the starter. At any rate, it
was that simple. The key piece of information would be to know exactly which
automotive starter was used on it.
