Sid, I to am sorry to hear about this. I can not imagine the thought of having so much time and effort into both the building and the physical and other efforts to get back to flying status only to have this happen.
I was very impressed with the thorough detailed report you gave on this in your email. I say this with respect as I believe pilots ( at least me for sure) can learn far more from you then those who have never experienced this before. Now it makes me want to go through and look at my inspection in far more detail and to look at engine mount / nose gear structure welds very thoroughly. It also makes me think of how difficult it can be to inspect a weld and see if there are any cracks. I hope its ok that I say this. But, in what I believe you can teach all of us, nearly all pilots, I think seeing a presentation and discussion of this at any aviation forum including a gathering would be incredibly helpful and informative.
