Well I got ready to go this morning, started up and could not get either of
my tablet GPSs to work. They both worked fine yesterday. I took it as a
omened.The whether here is windy, gusting to 45 MPH with clouds sitting on
all the surrounding mountains, and not to mention I'm a little nervous with
a mixture of high mountains, wind, and instant IFR. So I am home right now.
Maybe tomorrow I will try it again. The weather along my route of flight
looks better tomorrow. If things go smooth I make in a day. If not, I would
make it Friday Morning.
Later I did get the GPSs to work. It’s a mystery.

This year will make number 29 of the last 30 Gatherings I've attended.
The first was Rough River in Kentucky in 1990. I missed the one in
California although starting west in the KR. I got as far as Arkansas
for the first fuel stop. The wind in Oklahoma was more than I wanted to
tackle so I reversed course and came back to Illinois and set it out in
my recliner. I hated to break the string but I didn't want to see the
KR rolling across Oklahoma like a tumbleweed with me strapped inside.
Discretion is the better part of valor. I'm still here to attend
another Gathering.
Let the countdown continue.............
